We are providing this list as a service and resource to consumers who want an efficient way to explore the world of energy psychology from one place. This list does not contain any information about the scientific research that supports the efficacy of a given approach.
AEP or Energy Diagnostic and Treatment Methods (EDxTM), is a comprehensive treatment approach that integrates principles of kinesiology, bioenergy, and consciousness to efficiently treat psychological issues. AEP involves therapy localization, intuitive diagnosis, and other efficient approaches to specifically tailor interventions. In addition to meridian-based protocols that utilize an array of acupoints, AEP includes processes that involve other bioenergy systems. AEP also focuses on the importance of a mindful relationship and client efficacy in achieving therapeutic results.

AIT is based on the psychodynamic underpinnings provided by analytic psychology, object relations, and self psychology; on traumatology, energy psychology and energy healing; and on teachings and practices drawn from Sufism, Hinduism, Buddhism, Christianity, Judaism and other spiritual and religious traditions. AIT transforms negative character structures into positive ones, To do this, therapists learn how to access unconscious material through ideomotor cueing (muscle testing), and how to move energy through the body's major energy centers (chakras) to eliminate symptoms, their cause and after-effects.

AFT is meridian based energy work within a comprehensive psycho-spiritual framework. Emotional and physical problems are seen as made up of coherent energetic patterns that flow from our consciousness (beliefs, thoughts and emotions). Clients learn specific patterns of Meridian activation for different emotional and physical disorders as well as techniques for meridian activated forgiveness to release disruptions in the body's energy system.

BSFF utilizes the power of intention to neutralize subconscious programming that automatically creates and maintains problems of emotional distresses, limiting beliefs and maladaptive reactions.A comprehensive instruction is given once to the subconscious. Subsequently, by intentionally using a cue, the subconscious instantly resolves each identified problem. No physical manipulations are required. All energy systems are automatically included in each BSFF treatment thereby immediately permitting new free and flexible choices and responses.

Bodymind Healing Psychotherapy, developed by Dr. Michael Mayer is an integral, comprehensive energy psychotherapy which combines traditional forms of psychotherapy with symbolic process traditions, energy psychology techniques and Chinese medical approaches such as Qigong. Bodymind Healing Psychotherapy uses Qigong's self healing exercises to empower patients regarding various health conditions such as hypertension, insomnia, and chronic pain; and uses Qigong without any Qigong movements. For example, in a psychotherapy session a person may learn breathing methods, acu-point self touch and self-soothing methods that come from touching the acu-point associated with the heart. Sessions increase patient's somatic awareness of the movements/postures that are expressed at the moment of "felt shift" to anchor a new life stance. For more information on this approach, see Dr. Mayer's two books Bodymind Healing Psychotherapy: Ancient Pathways to Modern Health and Energy Psychology: Self-healing Practices for Bodymind Health.

Complex Instant is a protocol which grew out of my use of Larry Nims' brilliant work with BSFF. Its goal is to help us find and treat all of the nooks and crannies which are related to the presenting issue. It relies heavily on the use of muscle testing to clear the precursors, reversals, stoppers, fail-safe issues, traumas, emotions, "hidden compartments" and "kinds of things" related to the problem. A free download of the 46 page manual is available.

ECT is a therapeutic approach that integrates principles of energy, consciousness, and thought. It holds that mental health is innate, energy and consciousness are interrelated, the therapist's health is imperative to achieving positive results, and that elevating the client's thought recognition supports mental health and also serves to balance bioenergy. The principles of ECT are applicable to most therapeutic approaches.

Evolving Thought Field Therapy (EvTFT) is an integrated, meridian-assisted, mind-body-energy psychotherapy that includes diagnostic and treatment procedures performed while the patient is attuned to his/her problem. Distinguishing components of this model are the diagnosis and treatment of disruptive positive as well as negative emotions and the use of Touch-and-Breathe (TAB) on designated acupoints to neutralize the energetic causes of experienced distress. There are three diagnostic models (two Contact-Directed and one Thought-Directed) that are used in conjunction with muscle testing feedback to individualize treatment for optimal results. EvTFT model is a result of the collaborative work of John H. Diepold, Jr., Ph.D., Victoria Britt, MSW, and Sheila S. Bender, Ph.D.

Heart Assisted Therapy (HAT) is a psychotherapeutic approach that merges the concurrent use of thought fields, muscle checking, and heart energy to facilitate healing change in emotions, beliefs, behavior, and physical comfort. This mind-body-energy psychotherapy arose from clinical experience and consolidates the meridian, charka, and bio-field assisted approaches in Energy Psychology.
WHEE is the original name of this method. Many people love the exuberance of the name WHEE. Others (as in the business world) are put off by this exuberance. For them, the name TWR works better (Transformative Wholistic Reintegration). The intensity of negativity you are focusing on decreases with these 3 simple steps.
1. EMDR involves alternating stimulation of the left and right sides of the brain, as in tapping on the left and right sides of your body.
2. EFT invites you to focus your mind on your problem as you tap anywhere on the left and right sides of your body
3. You then focus your mind on strongly positive thoughts and feelings
Your financial support will help ACEP expand the use of energy psychology.
The result? More healing.
